About Me
Successfully raised a family while building a career
Enthusiastic cruciverbalist
2020 McInnis/Ryan Mid-Career Leadership Award winner
Avid reader of women's historical fiction
I have mentored women throughout my career and found it to be
one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
After serving as a dean and provost for nearly thirty years,
I have returned to the classroom as a professor of Sociology.
I have had time to reflect on my career, the valuable experience and knowledge I’ve acquired, and am excited to share it with other women. Women are essential to the future of higher education and I want to contribute to the effort to have more women in leadership positions.
At this point in my career, my goal is to create opportunities that support women in a deliberate and concerted way because with every next chapter of professional experience comes an opportunity to learn, be challenged, and improve conditions for those who are coming next.
